Nowadays, hypocrite moviemakers, due to false dogmas of political correctness, rarely dare to film truthful scenes, where teenagers get punished, rightfully or wrongfully, by old-fashioned means of whipping. However, cinematographic old-timers were a little bit more outspoken in this respect. Let us review several examples of unruly teenage boys, being whipped by angry adults in feature films.

Soviet action comedy The Elusive Avengers, 1967, narrates about adventures of a Communist gang of militant teenagers during the Russian Civil War. One of them has been caught by enemy forces, who would correct the boy accordingly. Peasants and pro-Communist musicians, present at the punishment, hardly hide their sympathy for the tortured teenager. US-British historical drama Barry Lyndon, 1975, contains the famous whipping scene, where the movie’s protagonist corrects a teenager with a cane. Soviet criminal drama Plumbum, or Dangerous Game, 1987, tells about a teenage informer, who infiltrates a gang in order to bring them to justice. When the gangsters have learnt about his perfidious activities, they are about to correct him with whipping. The gang leader is indignant: “Undress yourself and lie prone! I don’t care, whether you are a madman or a mole. Perhaps, you are a fool“. The teenage boy bravely confronts the criminals, exclaiming while being whipped: “I hate you. You have ruined our country!

Today, corporal punishments seldomly employed against teenage boys in developed countries. Maybe, such gentleness has its drawbacks too. New generations of masculine children tend to grow more pampered and feminine. Of course, I don’t advocate for rough treatment of little ones. Nevertheless, we should work out certain balance between humane upbringing of our offspring and manlike excercises for future soldiers, explorers, firefighters. A teenage boy should be taught to endure hardships in order to perform heroic acts. The feminine kindness of modern teachers has been hardly conducive to such a virile goal.
